Character Creation

Inspiration -- Who are you?

• Choose a concept
• Choose a Clan (anything other than the Camarilla 6 requires ST approval and costs LHv2 bonus xp as shown in table A-1 below)
• Choose a Nature and Demeanor

Attributes -- What are you good at?

• Prioritize Attributes
• Choose traits from our character sheet (other traits are not permitted)
• Choose five Abilities (an ability's 4^th or 5^th dot may not be purchased at character creation)
• Choose three Basic disciplines from your Clan's discipline spread
• Choose five Backgrounds (see additional notes below for special Generation and Age rules. Backgrounds higher than 3 require ST approval including Influences)
• Add Clan Advantage and Disadvantage to your sheet
• Assign Blood, Willpower, and Virtue Traits
• Choose Negative Traits (if any; up to a total of 5 may be taken for Free Traits)
• Choose Flaws (if any; up to a total of 7 points may be taken for Free Traits)
• Choose a Derangement (if applicable); one derangement may be taken for 2 Free Traits which counts against your Negative Trait cap
• Spend 5 Free Traits per LotN, plus any extra accumulated Free Traits
• Spend LHv2 starting bonus experience (20xp)

Additional Notes -- Things to Think About

• Trait caps descend from primary to terciary. Your generation determines your primary cap. Your secondary cap equals your primary minus one (1) and your terciary cap equals your primary minus two (2); e.g. 11^th gen trait caps would be 11, 10, 9
• Traits may be purchased with free traits at 1 or 1. Traits may also be purchased with experience, though each trait costs two (2) XP
• The Generation background cost is doubled; each dot costs two free traits. More than two dots (lower than 11^th generation) cannot be purchased unless as a result of a generation draw. You are not required to buy down to your maximum generation, and you may not spend XP on Generation
• A character's age as a kinred is determined by the age background. The age background must be purchased with free or background traits. You may not purchase the age background with the LHv2 bonus XP, and purchasing more than two dots requires ST approval
• Ability specializations may be purchased for an ability in which you have at least two (2) dots. Specializations cost two (2) XP and require ST approval
• Some Merits, Flaws, and abilities have been revised; others are not permitted while some require ST approval. Please see the Merits & Glaws section for more information
• Ability aptitudes cannot be purchased for combative abilities (Brawl, Dodge, Firearms, et cetera)
• Purchasing 'Out-of-Clan' disciplines at character creation require ST approval
• Second Intermediate (or Advanced) disciplines are not permitted at character creation
• Clan-specific disciplines that are out-of-Clan for you are not permitted at character creation (eg a Brujah coming in with Thaumaturgy)
• All paths other than Humanity cost 3 experience and require ST approval. Morality is rated on the 10-point (table-top) scale. Characters on paths other than Humanity have 5 dots to allocate among virtues instead of 7 and their starting morality rating is decreased by one without benefit
• You may lower your Morality path up to 2 dots for one (1) Free Trait each, which count against your Negative Trait total
• All Status merits require ST approval, as do Age-related titles other than Neonate

You must submit a fully-answered Character Questionnaire and Background as a prerequisite for ST consideration of a character sheet with any item requiring ST approval.
